The Trading Tortoise

The Trading Tortoise is a traveling art project by California artists Souther Salazar and Monica Choy. At each stop, they recreate their Trading Tortoise trading post and invite people to bring a meaningful object, story, or handmade creation and exchange it for something else special that Salazar and Choy have collected or traded for along the way. They hope to connect people in different places in America in this way, through a network of traded treasures and stories.
Bring a handcrafted item of your own to exchange this Thursday afternoon to the Frist Center's Turner Courtyard! All items are then documented and numbered, so trades can be tracked online at www.tradingtortoise.com.
