John Richards is a Nashville born and raised legendary jazz and blues artist who began his career playing as a teen on the famed Ernest Tubb Midnight Jamboree. He has backed many legends, including Tanya Tucker and Barbara Mandrell, and was named the Marion James Blues Society's Guitar Player of the Year for 2012. His work has been featured on NPR, and on the PBS series Jazz. Richards is at home in multiple musical genres, including country, pop, rock, blues, and his true love, jazz, for which he is known worldwide. He has been compared to Django Reindhart, George Benson, Lenny Breau and Chet Atkins.

In recent times, he has played with his trio around Middle Tennessee. My Jazz II, John's most recent CD was produced by Lloyd Townsend and Imaginary Records and recorded at Gene Breeden's Recording Studio in Nashville. The album features world class instrumentals with Vassar Clements, Victor Wooten and Richard Smith, and includes hits such as "The Cross We Bear" and "Ain't No Good News."
