Children 18 and younger receive FREE admission to the Frist!

The Frist Center for the Visual Arts seeks to be family friendly. We offer children and their families a fun and welcoming place to make and explore art. 

Programs and resources are available for parents to help engage children as they explore the galleries. Look at sculpture, paint a picture, make a print, hear a story, discover art-explore the Frist Center with your child.

Martin ArtQuest Gallery

Turn your creativity loose. Explore any of the 30 hands-on activities in the Martin ArtQuest Gallery located on the upper level. Learn more about the Martin ArtQuest Gallery.

Cafe

The Frist Center Café offers a kid-friendly menu that includes grilled cheese sandwiches, corn dogs, chicken fingers, pizza, and more. There is also a large selection of salads, sandwiches and sweets for the entire family.

Summer Art Camps

Send your child’s creativity to art camp. Designed for children ages 5-18, the Frist Center’s Summer Art Camp gives kids the chance to learn about art, themselves, and the world around them. Information about our 2015 summer art camps will be posted in January.

Free Family Days

The Frist Center offers free family days throughout the year. Special programs and activities themed around current exhibitions offer families a unique opportunity to create, explore, and enjoy art! Our next Free Family Day is scheduled for November 16. Learn more here.

Family Membership

The Frist Center serves as a unique entertainment and educational opportunity for visitors of all ages. Family memberships provide you and your family all the benefits of a regular membership along with special benefits for our youngest members. Join today!

Gift Shop

From books to art supplies, unique toys and posters, the Frist Center Gift Shop offers fun items specifically for the younger members of the family.
