Junior Accountant
(Full Time, Non-exempt)
Job Summary: The Junior Accountant is responsible for the assisting the Administration of the Frist Center for the Visual Arts in revenue reporting and accounts payable activity. This position will also serve in an administrative role.
Essential Job Functions: Working closely with the staff of the Frist Center for the Visual Arts:
• Perform daily cash reconciliation of revenues from Visitor Services, Gift Shop, Café, Membership, and Education Programs;
• Monitor and service cash safes;
• Help in the preparation of audits;
• Prepare for and attend quarterly meetings of the Finance Committee to record accurate minutes of the meetings;
• Assist Executive Administrator in preparation of the quarterly Board of Trustees meeting;
• Assist Controller and Deputy Director in preparing financial reports;
• Be able to produce reports in both Raiser’s Edge and Financial Edge;
• Monitor and order office supplies for administration as necessary;
• Maintain contract files for the institution;
• Become knowledgeable about the accounts payable operations and be able to act as a back-up for this activity;
• Other duties as assigned.
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting required.
Work Experience: Three years’ practical experience in related field(s) preferred.

• Must be highly organized and comfortable working with financials;
• Skills in tact and diplomacy;
• Ability to contribute creatively in a team-oriented workplace;
• Ability to write and communicate clearly for a broad range of audiences;
• Excellent administrative skills;
• Well-versed and at ease in using necessary types of computer applications (word processing, spreadsheets, Powerpoint, databases, etc.).
